PROCESS DESIGN FIRM ONQUEST, INC., RECEIVES ISO 9001 QUALITY CERTIFICATION
Process Technology Firm Passes Stage 1 and Stage 2 Audits by QMI-SAI Global to Receive 2008 Certification, Joins Sister Firm OnQuest
Los Angeles (February 22, 2011) - San Dimas, Calif.-based OnQuest, Inc., a global leader in process design and furnace technology for the petrochemical industry, has received official ISO9001:2008 certification, following a Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit performed by QMI-SAI Global at the beginning of February 2011. OnQuest's operating unit, Calgary-based OnQuest, is also ISO 9001-certified.
"OnQuest has long focused on high-quality engineering for complex process and furnace design projects," said Dr. Roberto Ruiz, COO of OnQuest. "This recognition by the International Organization for Standards attests to that focus, and allows us to better compete internationally."
ISO 9001 is an international quality standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies representing some 130 countries. The standard covers all aspects of an organization's internal and external activities, resulting in improved financial performance and greater employee and customer satisfaction. The ISO 9001 is based on customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision-making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
QMI-SAI Global is the registrar of choice for over 24,000 companies worldwide. The company has issued thousands of certificates in North America and overseas to national and international management system standards. The company offers comprehensive training programs to support the understanding, implementation and auditing of ISO 9001-based quality management systems.
Established in 2002, OnQuest, Inc., provides specialized design and engineering for process plants, direct-fired furnaces and related combustion technologies, burner management systems, and clean-air and NOx technologies, along with turn-key project management on construction projects and environmental applications, including selective catalytic reduction units (SCRs) and thermal oxidizers. The company works with virtually all major oil refiners, including BP, Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, Marathon, Tesoro and Valero.
Recently, OnQuest completed work on the Garyville Major Expansion (GME) project for Marathon Oil, Inc., the largest refinery expansion in the US. OnQuest's three-cell, double-fired furnace at this facility is the largest of its kind in service anywhere in the world. The new expansion comprises integrated units including naphtha and kerosene hydrotreaters, a CCR platformer, a hydrocracker, a coker heater, and crude and vacuum heaters. OnQuest supplied all but two heaters for the GME project.
In 2009, OnQuest won a prestigious contract to design and deliver six massive waste heat recovery units for Chevron Australia's Gorgon LNG Project, currently being constructed on Barrow Island, Western Australia. OnQuest's OnQuest operating unit has also recently performed furnace revamps at the Kwinana Refinery and the Bulwer Island Refinery, two BP refineries in Australia.
OnQuest has primary offices in San Dimas, Calif., and Calgary, Alberta, along with operations in Houston, Texas, and Northern California and sales representatives worldwide. OnQuest is a subsidiary of Primoris Services Corporation (NASDAQ: PRIM), one of the largest specialty construction and infrastructure companies in the US.
